Design Hotel In Iceland | 101 hotel Reykjavik

With a commanding presence in the oldest postal code of Reykjavík, 101 hotel neighbours the city’s administrative buildings, cultural institutions, main shopping district and the hub of restaurants, bars and nightlife. The 101 hotel communicates refined elegance, with a stylish sense of comfort pervading throughout. The highlight of the decor, however, will be the guests themselves. Whether you are drawn to Reykjavik for business or pleasure, 101 hotel is purely about you.

This first boutique hotel in Iceland is owned by designer Ingibjörg S. Pálmadottir, a graduate of Parsons School of Design in New York. She has used grays, black and white, clean lines and well-placed local art works to convey pure Nordic coolness. Keeping you warm are heated oak floors, a lounge fireplace, a popular bar and the jacuzzi and sauna

Iceland Design Hotel | CenterHotel Thingholt | Reykjavik |Gulla Jonsdottir

CenterHotel Thingholt is designed by an Icelandic female architect, Gulla Jonsdottir. Gulla owns G+ Gulla Jonsdottir Design in Los Angeles and has taken part in designing hotels in the US like Crescent Hotel in Beverly Hills and Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. The floors are made of leather tiles and the lobby walls are decorated with salmon-leather tiles. When entering the hotel there’s a long black lava textured wall, covered in dark glass masks representing the hidden people of Iceland and a small waterfall trickling down over them.
