Design Hotel In Argentina | Home Hotel Buenos Aires

HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS

Patricia O´Shea grew up in Palermo Viejo. She lived in Ireland for 16 years studying, working and finally running her own PR company. Patricia met her English husband Tom Rixton, a dj and record producer while he was working in Dublin. They married in Argentina in 2002 with friends flying in from all over the world to celebrate. It became clear to them that there was a lack of suitable stylish accommodation in Palermo where everyone wanted to stay.
“From this experience we realized there was a need for a hotel in this location and with all the things our friends wanted, a bar, a spa, a good pool, cool cocktails in a friendly environment. So we decided to create Home, the hotel we and our friends would like to stay at.”

LOCATION
The neighborhood formerly known as Palermo Viejo has been subdivided and informally renamed Palermo Soho and Palermo Hollywood. Home Hotel is located in the later, the area´s new moniker refers to the many TV channels and Radio stations, film production studios and the high count of local celebs frequenting its many bars & restaurants. However, Palermo Hollywood still retains its “barrio” feel mixing the old and the new, the traditional with the cutting edge. This vibrant area is best known as a gastronomic centre, with some of Buenos Aires best and most varied restaurants. Within easy reach of the city centre and all its tourist attractions, but far away from the fumes, noise and general mayhem.

The hotel's exclusive services, the Conference and Convention rooms, Business Center, five top restaurants, 18-hole golf course, Lobby Bar, Spa and the two wings of the hotel - Ala Bustillo and Ala Lago Moreno – will make the Llao Llao Experience an unforgettable one.

The Architect Alejandro Bustillo chose the Puerto Pañuelo area to build the Hotel as in addition to its magnificence and beautiful scenery, it had a port.

On October 26, 1939 a fire destroyed the hotel completely, but it was reopened on December 15, 1940. Since then, members of the aristocracy, officials, diplomats and famous guests have stayed at the hotel. Although it closed in 1978 for a period of 15 years, the spirit of the hotel remained intact.
The Hotel opened its doors to the public again in 1993 under the name of Llao Llao Hotel & Resort, Golf-Spa. In December 2007, the Lago Moreno wing was opened (Llao Llao Deluxe Suites – Moreno Lake Wing) built on a strategic site overlooking stunning views of Moreno Lake and Mount Tronador. The wing has 43 new rooms: Deluxe Studios and Suites, two Master Suites and one Royal Suite.
