Dutch Design Hotel | Hotel Artemis Amsterdam
Dutch Design Hotel Artemis is a unique design and art hotel, inspired by the purity and originality of Dutch Design. Dutch Design is known for its strong, original shapes and forms, the pragmatic approach and the use of new materials. Dutch artists love to make art with a wink, which leads to positive inspiration and a burst of liveliness. The hotel shows her identity in the style of Dutch Design. From the lobby to the rooms, Dutch design is evident in the hotel in all shapes and forms. The geometric influences of well known Dutch artists Mondriaan, Dudok and Rietveld can be seen in the architecture of the building and the main spaces. Throughout the hotel you will find privately owned art work of contemporary Dutch designers such as Marcel Wanders, Piet Hein Eek and Richard Hutten . This combination of Dutch Design, beautiful lighting effects and a tasteful, warm decoration create an inspiring surrounding and a welcoming atmosphere.
In Dutch Design Hotel Artemis Amsterdam you will also find specially commissioned works, forming the Artemis Art collection. The special opening painting ‘Artemis' in 2005 is from the artist Kees de Waal, also the founder of the WE fashion enterprise. In celebration of our first year we commissioned Lon Hendriks who created ‘Lady with an arrow'. The painting has a special spot in the hotel.
To carry out the Dutch Design concept the hotel organises a different art exhibition every three months, named D&A; Design & Artemis. This makes Dutch Design Hotel Artemis more than just a hotel, it is a total experience....more
